What is happening in The Room?

Adult Writers and Illustrators Meet & Greet:

Our upcoming quarterly Writers and Illustrators Meet & Greet:

Tuesday, March 26th from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at the Staples Spotlight Space in Reading, MA will be rescheduled.

Come connect with other area writers and illustrators and share ideas, motivation while sharing with The Room to Write what types of programming and creative support you would like to see in the north of Boston region. We will have coffee/tea and something for your sweet tooth along with the usual welcoming atmosphere we get when we invite writers and illustrators of all genres and abilities to connect in a casual way.

Special thanks to author/illustrator Joy Nelkin Wieder for her snowy owl illustration to the right! Joy will also be at the youth event below:)

Young Writers and Illustrators
Meet, Greet & Create!

Tuesday, March 31st from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM Rescheduled for June:)

at the Boys & Girls Club of Stoneham at 15 Dale Court, Stoneham, MA.

While our March Meet, Greet & Create will not go forward as planned, we will most certainly be holding this wonderful event! It is simply postponed. We hope to hold it in June, so kids have a new book they are excited about to read over the summer. We look forward to seeing you!

Reflections on In-person Connections
This is a fun and casual way to meet and get to know the local writers and illustrators behind the books you read. You will have a chance to ask questions, get to know some local authors and take home a signed book for FREE! P
ublished writers and illustrators representing everything from picture books, to middle grade books, to graphic novels and young adult literature look forward to meeting you!

We will be giving out free books, free notebook and pens, will have typewriters for kids to try out as well as some dip and fountain pens provided by Boston Pen People and will provide hot cocoa and snacks for the group.

Email us at and let us know you plan to attend, so we have enough hot cocoa and treats:)
